03/13/09 (Fri): Read, Read, Read

Today, the kids asked if I would read to them all day instead of doing any of our other routines. We took a late lunch and then the kids played for a couple of hours outside-it was a nice day!-then we read for a couple more hours. The kids did do several individual things on their own between reading and writing but I'm not going to write it down.

To Show Parent Core/Love of Learner/Scholar here are some things we modeled to the children today...
Deanna: Scriptures, word of the day, finished Surprised by Joy by CS Lewis, studied the Greek alphabet, attended our first Greek class and we were suppose to start our first discussion on The Odyssey but we took to long talking about Greek that we didn't get to it. Fun Night!
Alex: Scriptures, word of the day, studied Greek, listened to The Odyssey and attended class with me.

Wonderful post. I have been talking to homeschool moms a lot lately. My children are grown but how I wish I could have homeschooled them. I think we would have avoided a lot of problems.
