Biography/American History:
Started and read 1 chapter from Sacajawea: American Pathfinder by Flora Warren Seymour.
Greek Myths: Read 6 myths from D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths.
General Myths: Read 1 myths (Sister Lace) from The Usborne Book of Myths and Legends.
Read-a-loud: Read 2 chapters from Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
Memorization: The 50 states of the USA.
Family History: The biography of Naomi Russel and her parents: Henry Russel and Elizabeth Walton. We also read the patriarchal blessing of Naomi Russel. We read about an incident in the Life of Elizabeth Matthew Campbell. We finished our "giant" book of family history stories. We will move on to the numerous printed and bound volumes about specific people. We love family history! We find this an indispensable part of our learning.
Music: We are working on our rhythm poem about making good choices. It will take us a while to learn this.
Health: The Importance of Breakfast from Eat Well and Keep Moving by Lilian Cheung.
Science/Pet Care: Jared and Olivia each have a hamster that they are responsible for. They also take turns caring for our dog, cat and sea monkeys.
Movie: Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, so I think these are some of the best movies EVER made in my humble opinion. Good vs. Evil....

Olivia
Religion: Read a chapter in the Book of Mormon.
Music: Practiced the piano-playing in the simplified hymn book.
Art: Drew some pictures.
Math: Lesson 116 from Saxon 6/5
Spelling: 1 spell drill
Language Arts: Contractions from Easy Grammar
Creative Writing: Did an editing lesson from Editor-in-Chief.
Vocabulary: Peterson's Word of the Day-Quotidian
Vocabulary/Language Usage: Did a classical root words lesson.
Literature: Read for an hour in Walden by Thoreau.
Free Reading: Read On The Shores of Silver Lake for 45 min.
Family History/Computer: Indexed names from the 1920 census.

Jared
Religion: Read a chapter from The New Testament Reader.
Music: Practiced his piano lesson.
Geography: England and France
Math: Did a Singapore 3B lesson.
Spelling: 1 spell drill
Phonics/Handwriting: 5 pages from Explode the Code
Free Reading: Read a Star Wars chapter book for two hours and finished it.

Luke
Religion: Read a chapter in The Book of Mormon Reader.
Geography: Map reading from a geography workbook lesson.
Math: Did a Saxon Math 2 lesson.
Spelling: 2 spell drills
Phonics/Handwriting: 5 pages from Explode the Code
Free Reading: Read for 2 hours from King Arthur.

Caleb
Science/Social Studies: Played Brain Pop, Jr on the computer.
Spelling: 2 spell drills
Phonics/Handwriting: Did 16 pages of Explode the Code.
Reading: Read a phonics reader to me.

Family (in the evening):
Went to "town" and went grocery shopping, to the library and went out to dinner as a family.

To Show Parent Core/Love of Learner/Scholar here are some things we modeled to the children today...
Deanna: Scriptures, spell drill, word of the day, researched about the country of Bermuda and worked on my Greek.
Alex: Scriptures, word of the day, went to work, and listened to The Odyssey by Homer.
