Biography/American History: Read 2 chapters in Sacajawea: American Pathfinder by Flora Warren Seymour from the Childhood of Famous Americans
Fairy Tales: Read 3 stories from Usborne's Myths and Legends
Read-a-loud: Read 1 chapter in Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder
Memorization: 12 apostles of the LDS church and Books of the Old Testament
World History: 1 chapter from Ulysses and the Trojan War
Music: Rhythm poem. Some of the boys are having a very hard time keeping a rhythm. We have been practicing this a lot. Lots of clapping.
Family History (WWII History): Read a couple of pages from Memories of a Flying Tiger by Leonard Hancock (my grandfather)-about his experiences in China as a gunner during WWII. Health:Exercise from Eat Well and Keep Moving by Lillian Cheung
Drama: 3 1/2 hours of play practice
Science/Pet Care: Jared and Olivia each have a hamster that they are responsible for. They also take turns caring for our dog, cat and sea monkeys.

Math: Did lesson 120 in Saxon 6/5.
Spelling: 1 spell drill
Language Arts: Contractions from Easy Grammar
Creative Writing: Wrote another blog post on TJED Youth.
Vocabulary: Peterson's Word of the Day- Innocuous
Literature: Read in Walden for two hours.
Writing: Finished her assignment for Scholar School about Simplicity. It will be an oral report this week.
Geography/Social Studies: Memorizing the states and capitals. Knows the first 18.
Geography: Workbook lesson.
Classical Root Words: Test
Religion: Read a conference talk.

Jared
Religion: Read a chapter in the New Testament Reader
Math: Did a lesson from Singapore 3B.
Spelling: 1 spell drill
Phonics/Handwriting: 5 pages of Explode the Code
Art: Used some art books I have (from Usborne) and drew and colored several pictures. This was a big deal for Jared. Anything that involves a pencil is not a happy thing for him.
Reading: 1 hour of The Silver Chair by CS Lewis.

Luke
Religion: Read a chapter in the Book of Mormon Reader
Math: Saxon Math 2 - two lessons
Spelling: 1 spell drill
Phonics/Handwriting: 5 pages of Explode the Code
Creative Writing: Writing/typing another story on the computer.
Reading: 1 hour of King Arthur

Caleb
Math: Played with the abacus while I asked him math questions.
Spelling: 2 spell drills
Phonics/Handwriting: 4 pages of Explode the Code.
Reading: Read a phonics reader to me.
Computer: Played various computer games involving math and phonics.

Family (in the evening):
John 3
Started Fablehaven #4 and read 4 chapters

To Show Parent Core/Love of Learner/Scholar here are some things we modeled to the children today...
Deanna: Scriptures, journal, conference talk, word of the day, studied for 1 hour for my Geography final, practiced the piano for over 3 hours, wrote and turned in my reports for the distance academy, and worked on saying the Greek alphabet super fast.
Alex: Scriptures, worked in the temple, word of the day, went to work, practiced the Greek alphabet and listened to Brisingr.
