Bible: "The Israelites in the Wilderness" from The Old Testament Reader.
Family Scripture Study: 1 Timothy 1
Weekly Scripture Memorization: Mosiah 4:9
Friend Article
Idaho History: Read about the Kalispel and the Couerd'alane Indians in Idaho from A Rendezvous with Idaho History.
Literature: We read two chapters from The Silver Chair by CS Lewis. (So good!) We also read three chapters from Three Three Musketeers (an illustrated classic version)
Language Arts: Nouns
Fairy Tales: We read The Ugly Duckling, The Three Little Pigs and The Owl with Big Eyes (or something like that) from What Every 1st Grader Needs to Know by ED Hirsch
Science: Read a couple of pages and finished See Inside Science by Alex Frith and Colin King. We really like it. We talked about several things including the periodic table.
World History: We read about the Mycenaean civilization from The Usborne Encyclopedia of Ancient Greece. This was another big hit.
PE: Worked on the land
Chores: House chores and animal care

Olivia
Religion: Read a chapter in Genesis
Geography: Did an Evan-Moor lesson.
Math: Did a Saxon 7/6 lesson.
Language Arts: Did a Daily Grams lesson and finished
Editor in Chief.
Creative Writing: Did her scholar writing assignment.
Science: Did a science lesson from her science textbook.
Music: Practiced her piano lesson
Reading: Read for an hour in Work in the Glory #5.

Jared
Religion: Read in the Book of Mormon.
Music: Practiced his piano lesson
Geography: Did an Evan-Moor lesson.
Math: Did a Saxon 6/5 lesson and a math drill sheet.
Spelling: 1 spell drill
Phonics/Handwriting: 5 pages of Explode the Code
Creative Writing: Did a lesson in Let's Write.
Grammar: Did a Daily Grams lesson.
Read: Read for over 30 min in Peter and the Starcatchers.
Art: Decorated his binder like the little boys did yesterday.

Luke
Religion: Read in the Book of Mormon
Geography: Did an Evan-Moor lesson.
Math: Did a Saxon 3 lesson.
Phonics/Handwriting: 5
pages of Explode the Code
Grammar: Did a
Daily Grams lesson.
Spelling: Did a spell drill.
Creative Writing: Did his scholar assignment for 30 min.

Caleb
Religion: Read some verses to me in the Book of Mormon.
Reading: Read a story to me.
Geography: Did a lesson from Evan-Moor.
Math: Did one Saxon Math 2 lesson.
Spelling: 1 spell drill
Phonics/Handwriting: 2 pages of Explode the Code
Language Arts: Read a short story to me. Practiced his sight words by using a highlighter and finding them in The Friend.

To Show Parent Core/Love of Learner/Scholar here are some things we modeled to the children today...
Deanna: Scriptures, journal, word of the day, went visiting teaching, started and read about 1/3 of The Persians by Aeschylus, read in The Well Trained Mind (have I mentioned that I love that book?) and practiced my Greek.
Alex: Scriptures, word of the day, looking at house plans, went to the library for me, went to his professional monthly meeting (he serves on the board) and went to work.
