Family Home Evening:
Tonight we set off for town to see a friend who had been in an accident that was in the hospital. He had asked us to come by. So our lesson was going to be on visiting the sick and the afflicted. When we got there we found out that he had been discharged and was home. His home was 45 away. We called and he said to come see him at his home after we were done eating dinner in town. Jared wanted to eat pizza for his birthday. So after dinner we went to his home and his whole family was in bed for the night at 8:00. So then we went to see another family that lives in that town a couple of blocks away from them. They were all in bed too. We decided that the people in Dietrich all go to bed REALLY early compared to people in our town. Then when we were almost home we realized that we forgot to get Alex's car at his office. So we drove back (2o min) to get it. So we drove a lot. As soon as we got home the kids all staggered off to bed after family prayer. So we had an unproductive family home evening. Yes, we did spend time together as a family, but we didn't do anything doctrine/gospel related. Better luck next week. Sigh.
