Mom School

Music:
We sang 5 primary songs
Bible: "The Kingdom's Divide" from The Old Testament Reader.
Family Scripture Study: 1 Peter 3
Weekly Family Scripture Memorization: Galatians 5:13

Idaho History: Read about the LDS settlement and Episcopalian settlements in Idaho and finished the missionary section from A Rendezvous with Idaho History.
World History: We read about the building, learning, inventions and the history of the Greeks up to the time of the Roman conquest from Usborne's Greek History book. We read a lot (!) in this book and are now finished with it and we all really, really liked it. I wished I had bought the Egyptian one now also.
Language Arts: We read Fantastic! Wow! and Unreal! A Book About Interjections and Conjunctions by Ruth Heller.
Myths: We read two more chapters from Gilgamesh and elected to stop reading it. It is by Geraldine McCaughrean.
Science: We read about Cats from The Natural World Illustrated Science Encyclopedia by Usborne. We also read a chapter from Science: A Closer Look by Macmillan/McGraw-Hill.
Chores: House chores and animal care
PE: Played baseball for almost an hour outside.

Olivia
Religion: Read a chapter in the Bible.
Math: Did a Saxon 7/6 lesson.
Language Arts: Did a Daily Grams lesson

Spelling: Did a spell drill.
Science: Did a science lesson from her science textbook.
Music: Practiced her piano lesson.
Research: Researching about minute men in the Revolutionary War for a paper she has due.
Drawing: Lots of drawing and coloring.
Life Skills: She was in a cooking mode today (she cycles through this every 7-10 days) and made pancakes and omelets.
Geography Game: Played Snapshots Across America with Caleb.
Game: Played Turtlemania with Caleb.

Jared
Religion: Read in the Book of Mormon.
Music: Practiced piano lesson.
Geography: Did an Evan-Moor lesson.
Math: Did a Saxon 6/5 lesson.
Phonics/Handwriting: 5 pages of Explode the Code

Creative Writing: Did a Let's Write lesson.
Grammar: Did a Daily Grams lesson.
Book on Tape:Listening to The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien.
Drawing/Art: Lots and lots of coloring and drawing figures for a book he wants to write. He has pages and pages of drawings.
PE: Played football with me.

Luke
Religion: Read in the Book of Mormon

Caleb
Religion: Read some verses to me in the Book of Mormon.
Reading: Read a story to me. Read a McGuffy lesson to me.
Creative Writing: Started a story. He hand wrote out two chapters with lots of pictures. (Thanks to older siblings inspiring him!) It's a very cute story and I love it!
Geography: Did a lesson from Evan-Moor.
Math: Did one Saxon Math 2 lesson.
Spelling: Practiced his spelling words.

Phonics/Handwriting: 2 pages of Explode the Code
Drawing: Drew several pictures and carried his note book around all day drawing.
Geography Game: Played Snapshots Across America with Olivia.
Game: Played Turtlemania with Olivia.

To Show Parent Core/Love of Learner/Scholar here are some things we modeled to the children today...
Deanna: Scriptures, journal, word of the day, practiced the piano, started reading Mom and Pop Stores of America (I won on Goodreads) and went to a Relief Society Meeting.
Alex: Scriptures, word of the day, went to work and went to Scout Roundtable.
