Idaho History:Finished our section about mountain men from Idaho from A Rendezvous with Idaho History.
World History: We read about the city of Sparta and the Peloponnese War from Usborne's Greek History book.
Writing: They had to write down as many things as they could think of that would help them to have a good day.
World History Literature: Read two chapters in Gilgamesh by Geraldine McCaughrean
Myths: Read about King Midas out of the book Greek Myths by Geraldine McCaughrean.
Literature: Read two chapters in The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis.
Science: We read about frogs and toads from The Natural World Illustrated Science Encyclopedia by Usborne. We also read a chapter from Science: A Closer Look by Macmillan/McGraw-Hill.
Writing: They had to write down as many things as they could think of that would help them to have a good day.
Scriptures quizzing: I quizzed them for 30 minutes on scriptures/church history facts.
Chores: House chores and animal care

Olivia
Religion: Read a chapter in the Bible.
Math: Did a Saxon 7/6 lesson.
Language Arts: Did a Daily Grams lesson

Research/History/Writing: Spent an hour writing a paper about George Washington for her Friday Scholar class.
Science: Did a science lesson from her science textbook.
Music: She practiced with me for a vocal solo for Christmas that she's been asked to do. Practiced her piano lesson. She went to piano lessons.

Listened to a Nancy Drew book on tape.

Jared
Religion: Read in the Book of Mormon.
Music: Went to his piano lesson.
Geography: Did an Evan-Moor lesson.
Math: Did a Saxon 6/5 lesson and a subtraction drill sheet.
Spelling: 1 spell drill
Phonics/Handwriting: 5 pages of Explode the Code

Creative Writing: Did a Let's Write lesson.
Grammar: Did a Daily Grams lesson.
Book on Tape: Listened to a Nancy Drew book on tape.

Luke
Religion: Read in the Book of Mormon
Geography: Did an Evan-Moor lesson.
Math: Did a Saxon 3 lesson.

Logic Game: Played Book of Mormon Who? with me a couple of times.

Family Home Evening:

Testimonies: Alex, Deanna, Olivia and Luke
Character: Learned about taking phone messages from Uncommon Courtesy.

Talent: Hand stand walking by Caleb.
Lesson: Given by Jared based on Elder Bednar's conference talk.
Activity: Monopoly- this was the first time the kids have played. We also played Christmas records and the kids danced around for over 30 min. They had so much fun.
Treats: Homemade toast and hot chocolate

To Show Parent Core/Love of Learner/Scholar here are some things we modeled to the children today...
Deanna: Scriptures, journal, word of the day, practiced the piano, did lots of outside yard work, made homemade bread for some family members, and read for 30 min in The Earliest Accounts to the Fall of Rome by Susan Wise Bauer.
Alex: Scriptures, word of the day, went to work, did some home teaching, wrote a paper for the Scouting Drive, and finished listening to a wealth book.
