Today Jared took a sick day. He was miserable all night with the crud going around. So Olivia and I took the opportunity to have a "skills day." We are going to "town" (45 min)after school to stock up and run LOTS of errands. So our life skills revolved around that trip. With gas prices as high as they are I don't make as many trips to town as I use to. I was also in and out all day helping to judge over at the High School for homecoming week anyway. They aren't doing a whole lot over there at the school either so I don't feel so bad!
Olivia's life skills:
Learned how and paid all our bills today on line.
Balanced the check book.
Figured out our tithing and offerings.
Babysat two little kids for an hour.
Measured Hank's (the dog) neck to see what size of a collar he needs.
Called Pet Smart to find out their hours and some questions with the hamsters.
Decided what dinners we wanted for the next little while.
Made a grocery shopping list.
Made a list off all the other stops we needed to make and what we needed at each store.
Figured out the order of our stops to be the most gas and time effective.
That's what I remember anyway it was a good low key-high learning day for her. She was very happy and the best part was that she was doing Math and she didn't even mind! To quote, "The calculator is my friend."
So some of our stops today include the library, the music store and Pet Smart. Think of our family when we come home with rodents! At least the kids are paying for them.
