I am finding that I really like the books by Aliki. I've been checking out all the books by her that I can from the library. Her books are old so the pictures are all in three or so basic colors and older drawings. However, we are still finding her books engaging and that we like the information.

In this book not only do you learn about corn from a science prospective but there is also a lot of history included.

Alex: Scriptures, Went to work (Boise day), listened to Plague Ship by Clive Cussler for 6 hours while driving and driving, and went to a Priesthood meeting. We are also reading Richest Man in Babylon together.

Beowulf

My review rating: 4 of 5 stars
This was a nice book to expose my children to the epic poem "Beowulf." They liked the pictures and came away understanding one of Beowulf's adventures. We followed the book up with a 30 min video from the library entitled "Beowulf" by Schlessinger Media. The video recounts all three of Beowulf's adventures.

Character: She watched several episodes of Little House of the Prairie. We don't have TV beyond a couple of fuzzy stations accessible with rabbit ears. So for Christmas we bought season 1 of Little House on the Prairie, my favorite show ever! All little girls need to be thoroughly versed in all the Little House series for a proper education right? Besides there are some great character lessons.

Alex: Scriptures, Read for 30 min from a John Maxwell book, attended his professional organization meeting where he serves on the board as the past president, went to work, attending a county Republican Party meeting where he serves as District Vice-Chair and listened to Plague Ship by Clive Cussler in the car during his travels, changed the spark plugs in the suburban, went to the library again for me-his Tuesday job-to collect the 38 books I had on hold. The temple is closed this week and next.
