Family History (WWII History): Read a couple of pages from Memories of a Flying Tiger by Leonard Hancock (my grandfather)-about his experiences in China as a gunner during WWII. Health: Balance from Eat Well and Keep Moving by Lillian Cheung
Drama: The kids tried out for and each earned apart in this weeks Missoulas Children Theater's production of the Little Mermaid. The kids have practiced everyday this week. They are super excited.
Science/Pet Care: Jared and Olivia each have a hamster that they are responsible for. They also take turns caring for our dog, cat and sea monkeys.

Vocabulary: Peterson's Word of the Day- Hubris
Literature: Read in Walden for two hours.
Writing: Starting an assignment she has for Scholar School about Simplicity. It will be an oral report this week.

Language Arts: Using the dictionary to find words.

Math: Played a game teaching sums up to 10 from Right Start Math. This game as tremendously improved his math facts up to 10. Excellent!
Spelling: 1 spell drill
Phonics/Handwriting: 8 pages of Explode the Code.
Reading: Read a phonics reader to me.
Creative Play: Built catapults and forts outside.
Free Reading: Read for over 30 minutes at grade level reading.
Science: Read/looked at several science cards.
Family (in the evening):
Family Home Evening: Personal Testimonies-including this talk.
Played Wii together.
To Show Parent Core/Love of Learner/Scholar here are some things we modeled to the children today...
Deanna: Scriptures, journal, conference talk, lesson from Joseph Smith manual, word of the day, studied for 1 1/2 hours for my Geography final, practiced the piano (I'm playing the piano for the Missoula's Children Theater production this week) and worked on saying the Greek alphabet super fast.
Alex: Scriptures, reading The Law by Bastiat, word of the day, went to work, listened to Brisingr and practiced his Greek alphabet also.
