Mom School
Pledge and Song
Theology: We read chapter 12 from Gospel Principles.
Bible History: The Accession
Friend Article
Biography/American History: Read two chapters and finished John Quincy Adams: Our Sixth President by Gerry and Janet Souter.
Biography: We read the book Snowflake Bentley by Jacqueline Briggs Martin about the man who photographed snow flakes.
Fables: Read Paul Bunyan out of American Tall Tales by Adrien Stoutenburg
Memorization: Practiced the first 34 states of the USA.
Music: The Staff and the Treble Cleff out of Music Theory for Beginners by Usborne.
World History: We listened to two hours of Story of the World vol. 2.
Geography: Indonesia (where the Komodo Dragon is from)
Science: Reptiles from The Kingfisher Science Encyclopedia.
Health: Case studies from chapter 1 about healthy living in Eat Well and Keep Moving by Lilian Cheung.
PE: Playing outside in the snow with their cousins.
Science/Pet Care: Jared and Olivia each have a hamster that they are responsible for. They also take turns caring for our dog, cat and sea monkeys.

Olivia
Religion: 1 chapter from The Book of Mormon.
Science: Read a chapter in her science book.
Math: Lesson 100
Language Arts: Prepositional Phrases
Vocabulary: Peterson's Word of the Day- ANTITHESIS
Life Skills: Babysitting

Jared
Religion: Read a chapter out of the New Testament Reader.
Free Reading: Read 3 chapters of Eragon.
Creative Play: He's building his massive Lego ship. He's been working very hard on that and doesn't want to do anything else until he gets it done.

Luke
Math: Did 1/2 a math lesson.
Phonics/Handwriting: Did two pages from Explode the Code.
Creative Play: Lego's also.

Caleb
Math: Worked with his scales set.
Phonics/Handwriting: 3 pages of Explode the Code.
Creative Play: Played with his cousin for most of the day.

Family (in the evening):

We went to town again. This time we were hunting down flooring and furniture. We come home empty handed. We did eat yummy Italian food for dinner though.

On the way home Jared, Caleb and I listed to an adaptation about MacBeth. They liked that.

And we put back our Dining Room and Family Room! The paint looks great. Only the library room, the entry way, and the hall way are left! (The Mud Room and Kitchen were finished yesterday).

To Show Parent Core/Love of Learner/Scholar here are some things we modeled to the children today...
Deanna: Scriptures, word of the day and I helped a friend/cousin most of the day.
Alex: Scriptures, word of the day, went to work, listened to The Iliad by Homer.

ooooh, Italian. I wish we had a decent place to eat where I live. To eat at a good restraunt I have to drive at least 1 hour or more.
